Pakistan Building Code
Pakistan's national structural design code, updated in 2021, setting seismic, wind, and load requirements for new buildings.
Developed by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) with technical support from NED University, Karachi and the World Bank, the Building Code of Pakistan 2021 (BCP-2021) replaced the seismic provisions of the older BCP-SP-2007 code. It is built on the 2021 International Building Code under a licensing agreement with the International Code Council, and was revised to reflect an updated seismic hazard analysis of Pakistan following a series of major earthquakes. The code sets mandatory structural design values for seismic loading, wind speed, snow and rain loads, and adds dedicated guidance for flood-resistant construction and for the seismic retrofit of existing buildings.

Is the Pakistan Building Code 2021 mandatory nationwide?
It's the national reference standard, but enforcement on the ground depends on the building control authority (the AHJ) in each city or province adopting it, so local practice can vary.
